Drop Out of High School and Get a Real Job Mod

Now your teenage Sims can drop out of high school and get a real job. This mod is broken up into three parts: High School Dropout, Adult Jobs for Teens, and Adult Career outfit for Teen unlocks.

New High School Dropout method
Due to the 1.30 update my old method of dropping out of school caused Last Exception errors. Luckily for all of us CardTaken has a quit school mod that still works with 1.30. Download Child and Teen can Quit or Rejoin School (NEW: No Auto Enrollment) (don’t forget to click thanks) and remove any of my old No High School mods. Note that CardTaken’s mod is in two parts a .package and a .ts4script and both are needed to work. Once installed select your teen and using their phone select Quit Job and select High School; or use the cheat careers.remove_career highschool

Adult Jobs for Teens
Install the “Telford – Adult jobs for Teens BASE GAME” package and your teens will be able to join all the base game careers in addition to the regular part time jobs. Be sure to also install one of the no high school mods and quit any part-time jobs your teens may already have.

Install “Telford – Adult jobs for Teens GET TO WORK” to unlock the Get to Work careers for your teens. This will allow your teens to join the Scientist, Medical and Detective careers introduced with the Get to Work expansion. This package only unlocks the Get to Work jobs and can be safely installed along with the above Adult Jobs for Teens packages. (Requires Get to Work)

Install “Telford – Adult jobs for Teens CITY LIVING” to unlock the City Living careers for your teens. This will allow your teens to join the Social Media, Critic or Political careers introduced with the City Living expansion. This package only unlocks the City Living jobs and can be safely installed along with the above Adult Jobs for Teens packages. (Requires City Living)

Adult Career Outfits for Teens
Some career outfits from Get to Work were not flagged for teen use, so for teens to wear the right outfits install the “Telford – Adult Jobs for Teens CAS overrides GET TO WORK 1.29” package. This mod fixes any CAS part not flagged for teen.

Base Game and City Living have all of the adult clothes already flagged for teens and does not require a mod. The old CAS override mods causes problems with sims changing into random career clothes and have been removed, if you experience this problem remove the Base game and City living mods and update the Get to work CAS mods.

Testing and possible Issues
Tested using the Doctor and Athlete careers. The game chose an odd outfit for my Doctor teen when he was starting out which is why you may need the Outfit Tools mod, but after a few promotions he was given the right outfits.

Some of the active careers from Get to Work had some age gated interactions such as “analyze patient sample”, I believe I’ve found them all but if you run into an action your teen can’t do please let me know in the comments.

For the no school mods I had one teen go from a C to a B grade without doing anything school related, if this happens just use the cheat to demote their grade. Azoresman has a much more robust looking no school mod that is currently broken, once they update their mod I would recommend switching to it.

Without the no school mod teens can have both a full time job and have to go to school, I haven’t seen what happens when you have to be both places at once but I doubt it would be good.

Install Instructions
These mods have been updated to work with version 1.30. Some of the mods require expansion packs to work, check the mod description before installing.
To work properly at least two packages need to be installed:

1) Install CardTaken’s mod Child and Teen can Quit or Rejoin School (NEW: No Auto Enrollment)

2) Install any of:
Telford – Adult jobs for Teens BASE GAME
Telford – Adult jobs for Teens GET TO WORK
Telford – Adult jobs for Teens CITY LIVING

3) If Adult jobs for Teens GET TO WORK is installed also Install:
Telford – Adult Jobs for Teens CAS overrides GET TO WORK 1.29
