Weather Realism Overhaul Mod

After you download (or update) my mod and enable it in-game, make sure that you reset the forecasts once.

You can reset the forecasts this way:
Go to the Seasons section of your game’s options.
Change the season length (for example, if you’re playing with 14 day seasons, change it to 7 or 28).
Apply settings without leaving the game settings page.
Change the season length to your preferred length.
If you don’t do this, the mod may not work properly! The glitch where there is snow in Sulani is a result of this.

The Weather Realism Overhaul changes the way the game handles weather events and forecasts to make weather more realistic.

Forecasts Aren’t Always Accurate:
In the unmodded game, a cloudy day will always be cloudy. With this mod, however, forecasts can be unpredictable, a day forecast to be sunny can instead have rain showers or a day forecast to be rainy can remain cloudy. As a result, all weather events can happen with every forecast.

Tweaked Weather Forecasts:
Along with the tweaked weather events, all forecasts’ names have been changed, and new varieties added, to complement the new events, such as Warm Fog (June Gloom), Showers, more intensities of rain, etc.

Visual Changes:
Cloud covers, weather transitions and how water puddles form have been changed.

Other Minor Changes:
Changes like lightning settings and forecast thresholds that are too minor and too many to write here, you can see the changelog for that.

Worlds’ Weather Changed: Weather for all worlds have been remade to match real-world locations, using this temperature scale.
Freezing – <0 C / <32 F Cold – 0 – 10 C / 32 – 50 F Cool – 10 – 20 C / 50 – 68 F Warm – 20 – 30 C / 68 – 86 F Hot – 30 – 35 C / 86 – 95 F Heatwave – >35 C / >95 F

The mod will conflict with any mod that changes weather events, forecasts, forecast lists for worlds, general weather tuning or lightning.

Bug fixes, including the one where Strangerville’ Strange Weather doesn’t show up occasionally.

1.4 Features
The lightning buff now appears for a shorter time.
Lightning now happens more frequently.
Cloud covers now have more variety and will show up at different intensities.
Showers and thunderstorms forecasts tweaked for a more realistic representation. (the rain will no longer be steady and instead will start and stop during the day)
Rain with occasional thunder and no lightning will no longer show up as a thunderstorm.
Wind now happens less often in clear weather and more often in bad weather.
Forecasts of steady rain are now more accurate.
Daily temperature changes are now better related to the amount of sunshine.
The warmest time of day is now generally between 12 pm-6 pm instead of 11 am-3 pm.
Fixed a bug where the lightning buff would make people run inside even though they’re inside.
More minor bug fixes and changes.

1.3 Features
StrangerVille weather added (based on Roswell, NM)
Major fixes about the weather machine.
Rain and snow intensity should vary more.
Heavy rain/snow limit lowered.
Warm is no longer hot weather.
Changed buff for lightning to trigger whenever there is thunder in the neighborhood.
Days with chances of burning or freezing weather now have their unmodded signs (the forecast names are unchanged)
Other minor bug fixes.

1.2 Features
Temperature differences in day and night time now work better.
Minor changes in climates.
Changes in certain features of weather events so that transitions are smoother.
Cloud cover changes. Because of these changes dry lightning will not show up in the weather panel (will fix this in the next update).
The feature that distinguishes a blizzard from heavy snow (the weather events not the forecasts) is now wind instead of snow intensity.

1.1 Features
New weather event and forecast: fog. See the forecast list for details.
There is now more snow in general. This is not realistic but what I did is that I tripled the number of snow days, which more or less means that the total snow days a world will get in 28 day winters will be the same as its real-life counterpart in a real winter season. This also means that what I said about 7 day seasons no longer applies and people with 7 day seasons will still get snow almost every year.
